1 month ago 178

The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro is the direct successor of the affordable Hot 8 Series. The Infinix smartphones were officially announced on May 29, 2020, and have since been released in India, Nigeria and Kenya respectively. The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro is unarguably the most powerful smartphone model from the Infinix Hot Series. It sports many amazing features we haven’t seen on the Infinix Hot device before. While the Infinix Hot 9 and bigger Hot 9 Pro sports similar features and specs, the only difference between Infinix’s latest Hot device lies in terms of their cameras.

The Infinix Hot 9 Series comes with a gem cut texture design which includes a 2.5D sleek glass body and a quad-camera set-up on the rear. The Infinix Hot 9 and 9 Pro are solely powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor, a 4GB + 64GB storage, and a 5000mAh battery. The Infinix Hot 9 and 9 Pro will be sold for ₦57,000 and ₦62,000 respectively in any leading Nigerian market.

The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro are similar both in design, and features. The only difference comes in the camera specs although they sport the same rectangular module quad camera. They’re surely one of the best Infinix Mobile Brand’s smartphone and worthy to upgrade from the Infinix Hot 8. In this smartphone review, we explore through the Infinix Hot 9 Series full specs, features, and expected price in Nigeria.

Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro: Amazing Design Texture

The most notable similarity over its predecessor comes from the front panel design. The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro sport a complete design overhaul on the front and back panel. The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro comes with a rectangular quad-camera module, which is almost double the size of the Infinix Hot 8 Series.

On the front panel, the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro features a dot-hole notch camera cut-out as opposed to the waterdrop notch on most mid-range smartphones. The integrated dot-hole notch gives the Infinix Hot 9 Series a high-end phone design. Arguably, this is the only phone to opt for a dot-hole notch at this price tag.

The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro arrives in Violet and Ocean Wave color options. On the Violet color version, you’ll get a massive flashy phone design, but if you want something cool and more basic, then the Ocean Wave version might be more appealing to you. The two phones sports a gem cut-out texture on the rear design, making it more beautiful and sexy to the eyes. Behind the rectangular camera module, you’ll get a fingerprint reader, along with “Infinix” branding slightly below it.

The amazing thing about the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro design is that it doesn’t look like a mid-range phone while at your hands. The volume rocker and power button are housed at the top right side of the device, while the dual SIM tray is situated on the left. Just like other phones, the audio wicket is located on the bottom side of the device, along with a USB port, and headphone jack.

Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro: 6.6-inches 480 Nits Display

Coming to the display, the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro packs a similar screen display consisting of a 6.6-inches HD+ LCD. The front panels feature a dot-hole notch display housing the smartphone’s selfie camera and some noticeable bezels on the bottom. The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro display comes with some amazing features such as Dark Mode, Eye Care, Adaptive Brightness, and Inadvertently Mode.

Amazingly, you won’t experience any itch starring at the phone or using it under the sun. Watching movies and playing games would be a dream come through on the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro, thanks to the 6.6-inches screen and vibrant color reproduction.

Overall, the screen display of the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro is above average for a smartphone of this segment, despite its poor screen resolution. Unfortunately, the dot-hole notch on the front panels might be a hindrance and a bit outdated as most phones now feature a pop-out selfie camera.

Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro: Camera Performances

 Camera Performances

The Infinix Hot 9 Series sees a bumper camera upgrade than it’s predecessors. Infinix Mobile gave enthusiasts what they truly deserve by changing the camera set-up on the Infinix Hot Series, which in turn positioned the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro on a higher standard. The Hot 9 Series sports different camera features, although they have that same rectangular quad-camera module.

The Infinix Hot 9 primary camera sensor differs according to the storage variants. The 32GB variant packs a 13MP primary sensor, while the 64GB variant comes with a 16MP primary camera. Other camera sensors include a 2MP macro camera, 2MP depth camera, and QVGA camera which delivers stunning images in low light conditions. Right behind the quad-camera set-up is a triple LED flash which is capable of taking photos in Panorama, HDR, and shooting videos maxed at 1080p @ 30fps.

The dot-hole notch in front of the device houses an 8MP shooter along with a LED flash hidden in the top bezels for brighter and sharper selfies.

Contrary to the Infinix Hot 9 camera specs, the Infinix Hot 9 Pro comes with a different rear camera features. The rear camera set-up consists of a 48MP primary camera, 2MP macro camera, 2MP depth camera, and a QVGA camera that delivers stunning images in low light scenarios. Just like the Hot 9, this camera set-up is capable of delivering HDR and Panorama photos and can shoot 1080p videos @ 30fps.

Unfortunately, the Infinix Hot 9 Pro is incompetent of utilizing the 48MP primary camera to its full potential, which occurs as a result of the MediaTek Hello P22 chip-set not supporting a camera sensor as big as 48MP.

Just like the Infinix Hot 9, the Infinix Hot 9 Pro model’s front camera is well handled by a single 8MP camera along with a LED flash.

Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro: Software Performance and Battery

The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro are well equipped with a MediaTek P22 SoC chipset, 4GB RAM, and 64GB inbuilt storage. Unfortunately, the MediaTek P22 SoC chip-set is quite below average, and still the same processor that was found on the Infinix Hot 8 Series.

However, the chip-set works well on mid-range apps and casual games. You might experience slow downs while playing high-end games or using RAM hungry apps. If gaming is your priority, then it’s better to opt for other high-end mobile devices.

The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro ships on XOS 6.0 based Android v10 operating system. The UI has lots of customization options and an Infinix smart panel that gives you easy and quick access to your apps.

Connectivity options on the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro USB port, and 4G LTE network.

Coming to the battery side, the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro packs a reliable non-removable 5000mAh battery, and a 10w fast charging capability. Additionally, the 5000mAh battery can deliver up to 48 hours of active standby mode on average usage.

Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro: Price and Availability

The Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro will be available to buy at an introductory price of ₦57,000 and ₦62,000 respectively. You can buy the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro on Jumia, Amazon, or any other online store or slots in Nigeria.

Additionally, if you’re looking for a beautifully designed low price smartphone, the Infinix Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro will be your perfect match. Contrary to that, the Infinix Hot 9 Series loses on the processor side but has a lot of other features to make up for that side. But if you want the best processor for your buck, we recommend you look elsewhere.
