We’re about to see the launch of Samsung Galaxy S21 models as the South Korean smartphone company has announced a new unpacked event sheduled for Jan 14. You can even register to preorder any of the Galaxy S21 right now by visiting Samsung’s official website. The smartphone giant released a lot of phones last year to match every budget starting from Galaxy A01’S, all the way to the costliest Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S series is widely regarded as the company’s flagship phones after seeing the release of the Samsung Galaxy S20 family and the budget-friendly Galaxy S20 FE. According to many reports, the latest Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra will sport a new design, with upgraded cameras featuring a 10× optical zoom, and the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset.
Of course, many other things’ll be improved and added judging from what we’ve seen in the former S20 models. Also, the Galaxy S21 family is set to feature a new S Pen which will see some of the Galaxy Note features find their way into the S21 lineup.
Below are every details we know about the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra along with its expected price in Nigeria.Samsung Galaxy A12: Full Specifications, Features, and Price in NigeriaSamsung Galaxy A51: Full Specifications, Features, and Price in Nigeria

The Galaxy S21 look pretty more than what we’ve seen on the S20 family. According to many reports, the Galaxy S21 has a vertical camera array compared to the one on Galaxy Note 20s. Meanwhile, the front panel sports a dot-hole display with a flat-screen instead of the curved ones that’s present on the Galaxy Note series.
IceUniverse has revealed that both Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus will come with the same 2.5D screens that we saw on the S20 models. However, the Galaxy S21 Ultra sports a more traditional curved display.
It’s also rumored that the S21 will get Samsung’s latest “blade bezel” design which will completely make the phone bezel-less. If implemented, we expect to experience a new thin and flat edges design on the S21 series, integrated with the 2.5D display which will put the phones among the list of slimmest smartphones.
However, Samsung has been working on providing a full display smartphone for over a year now, and there were high hopes the launch of Galaxy S21 will make this vision a reality. This would see the camera hole becoming entirely invisible. However, based on current predictions and what we’ve seen so far, it appears that an under-display camera won’t debut in the Galaxy S21.

Speaking of camera specs, the Galaxy S21 will likely pack similar camera specs to what we saw on the Galaxy S20, but with some improvements. The Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus, and will once again feature a triple rear camera lens sporting a 12-MP main sensor, another 12-MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 64-MP telephoto lens. However, the biggest Galaxy S21 Ultra will feature a 108-MP found in the Note 21 Ultra with an improved 10× optical telephoto lens and 3× telephoto sensor.
These upgraded features will surely lead to a big bump in zoom quality. According to some outlets, Samsung is likely to bring back 100× zoom, while they’ll introduce laser autofocus on the S21 Ultra to avoid lack of focus problems faced on last year’s model.
For Samsung’s part, the President of Samsung Electronics TM Roh stated that the company is promising “super-intelligent, pro-grade camera and video capabilities in 2021,”

As normal tradition with Samsung, it’ll use two different chip-sets to power the Galaxy S21. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip-set will be for phones released in the US, while the Exynos 2100 processors are for models shipped to rest of the world. Fortunately, we’re to enjoy a 25% overall power efficiency boost on the S21 series.
Meanwhile, with the combination of Adreno GPU and Snapdragon 888, you can expect a 35% boost in graphics performance. Samsung’s Exynos 2100 processor will be another 5-nanometer chip.
Each Galaxy S21 family is expected to ship in 128GB storage as the base configuration, with another option of 256GB, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra owners can choose to opt for the 512GB storage variant. This is a welcome approach as rumor indicates that the S21 models won’t feature any microSD card slot making you stuck with the available inbuilt storage options.

According to many reports, Samsung will make only little changes to the phone’s battery capacities, unlike previous Galaxy S models.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is expected to feature a 4000mAh battery which is similar to the one on Galaxy S20. Similarly, the Galaxy S21 Ultra would retain the 5000mAh cell found on Galaxy S20 Ultra. However, the Galaxy S21 Plus could have a slightly bigger battery capacity of 4800mAh unlike 4500mAh in the Galaxy S20 Plus.
Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra: Price in Nigeria and Availability
Unlike the S20 models, Samsung changed their initial culture of offering a cheaper E model between the range of $700-$750. Instead, the cheapest Galaxy S21 is tipped to start from ₦394,000 ($999).
According to many predictions, it’s suggested that the S21 models could be cheaper than their predecessors. Meanwhile, Indian Publication TechQuila revealed that there won’t be any price change which means that we would be looking at $999 for the entry-level, while the S21 Plus will be ₦407,000, and S21 Ultra will be sold for ₦671,000. However, given there might be a change in price or a change in exchange conversions, we would take this process with a pinch of salt.
As for availability of the phones, Samsung has announced a new Unpacked event for Jan. 14. Just like other events, the event is scheduled to stream online which is likely to be the launch date of the Galaxy S21 series.
As to when people will be able to buy the latest Galaxy S21, Android Authority predicts a January 22 release date. However, some sources suggested it will be on Jan. 29. Irrespective of the rumored release date, be assured you can lay your hands on the Galaxy S21 by the end of the month.Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Fan Edition Official Launch in Nigeria: Full Specification and Prices
