The hurdles associated with the transportation of merchandise across Africa, not unlike the process of moving across the continent as a native, are not new. Both local businesses and multinational enterprises are quite familiar with the obstacle course. 

No thanks to splintered supply chain systems, for the past several years, many African countries ranked low in indicators such as trade quality, cross-border clearance, logistics infrastructure, and consignment tracking. The enactment of a free trade agreement is, however, aiding an upwards correction. 

With such a policy in the works, startups operating in the multibillion-dollar African logistics and trucking space, like Kobo360, Lori Systems, Trella, Amitruck, and Sendy have more to leverage in solving the challenges plaguing the industry. From the onset, the road seemed even enough to sustainably disrupt with tech on one hand and the AfCFTA on the other.
